PRESS: Ministry backs Rostelecom in raising tariffs for operators
MOSCOW, Nov 30 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry has backed telecom operator Rostelecom’s suggestion to hike tariffs of services provided to the mobile operators, and the prices of Rostelecom’s services for competitors may rise up to 10% by the beginning of 2024, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday.
The daily referred to the ministry’s draft order released on portal regulation.gov.ru on Tuesday on raising the ultimate maximum prices of services of interconnection and traffic transfer provided by Rostelecom.
It follows from the document and an explanatory note that the ministry suggests hiking the prices of traffic transfer by 10% on average because of “the economic changes over the recent two years.” It implies a total level of inflation that amounted to 32% in 2020–2023.
Rostelecom initiated the increase, according to the document.
